The tournament decides the men's ice-hockey world champion. The group stage is dense, and every point shapes the quarter-final race.
Sixteen teams play in two groups of eight. Each team plays the other teams in its group once, the top four in each group reach the quarter-finals, and the medal rounds are single elimination.
In ice hockey, score calls use the score after regular time. Overtime and shootouts can appear in results, but they do not change the correct prediction score.
